This is an outstanding well crystallized miniature specimen for chalcocite. From a classic old locality, this shows brilliant lustrous hexagonal crystals of chalcocite to 0.7 cm in size mostly coating one side of matrix. Absolutely damage-free, there are a lot of excellent well defined crystals on the specimen. This is neat three dimensional piece, best viewed when held in the hand. A very fine and choice old-time Cornish classic! Ref: Embrey and Symes, Minerals of Cornwall and Devon (1987).

The Central Mine in Michigan was organized in 1854, and has the distinction of being the first mine in the district to actually make a profit. Work ceased at this mine in 1898. During its lifespan the mine produced many, many fine mineral specimens. The cabinet piece shown here is outstanding. Well defined and formed crystals of native copper to 3.1 cm in size are arranged very aesthetically over a native copper matrix. The piece is crystallized all around. There is no damage and the specimen sits perfectly for display by itself. The patina is wonderful. Good cabinet sized classics such as this are always, and will always be, in high demand. Ref: The Mineralogical Record: 23: 2.

H9502414) Herderite with Albite - Chhappu, Braldu Valley, Skardu District, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan

Price: $ 2500

Herderite, while not a terribly uncommon mineral, is not often seen in good collectible specimens with sizeable crystals. The miniature shown here is excellent. A near transparent, but mostly translucent, green blocky crystal measuring 2.8 cm across is set attractively upon a matrix of curved white crystallized albite. There is very tiny microscopic chipping across the top termination edge; to my naked eye though this appears undamaged. Complete all around 360 degrees. This is very fine and choice for the species!

P2088) Pyromorphite - Bunker Hill Mine, Bunker Hill Properties, Kellogg, Coeur d'Alene District, Shoshone Co., Idaho, USA
Size: 5.2 x 3.2 x 3.0 cm (miniature)
Price: $ 2500

Known for some of the finest pyromorphite specimens in the world, the Bunker Hill Mine in Idaho is justly famous amongst mineral collectors. The top quality miniature shown here is a classic example for the locality. Beautiful lustrous prismatic curved hexagonal green to yellowish-green crystals of pyromorphite to 1.2 cm in size are aesthetically covering a thin matrix. Shows nicely all around 360 degrees and absolutely free of damage - this is a miniature of top quality! Ref: The Mineralogical Record, 12(6),pp:339-347.

Beautiful large cherry red slightly translucent semi-lustrous rhombohedral crystals of rhodochrosite to 2.6 cm in size are set nicely upon matrix. There is a pale violet transparent semi-lustrous crystal of fluorite nestled nicely amongst the rhodochrosite crystals, this measuring 1.2 cm on edge. There are three primary crystals, plus the fluorite, these are perfect and undamaged. There is minor chipping along the edges of the piece, due to removal of the specimen from the pocket in the mine. Overall I think this an excellent attractive miniature specimen for rhodochrosite from China!

R2109) Rhodochrosite with Fluorite - Wudong Mine, Liubao (Babu), Cangwu Co., Wuzhou Prefecture, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China
Size: 7.0 x 7.0 x 3.7 cm (small cabinet)
Price: $ 3000

Excellent new rhodochrosite for this locality! Glassy lustrous beautiful red rhombohedral crystals of rhodochrosite, showing translucency, to 1.9 cm on edge are covering the front side of matrix. Minor purple crystallized fluorite in association. There is very slight chipping along the edges of the piece, overall I think that this is in great shape damage-wise though. The quality is excellent for the species at this locality!
